So that Adobe Create could better understand its audience, Anyways Creative developed an online personality test for creatives. The test provided an effective means of harnessing individual’s creative potential while helping Adobe Create to gain further insight into its readers and expand to new markets.
Personality tests come in various forms, from career choice tests to discovering your Hogwarts house, and people are drawn to take them in order to gain more insights about themselves. Unfortunately, most aren’t visually stimulating and only some cater towards creative industries.
Anyways Creative created an immersive, visual test experience unlike any online test before, in collaboration with various talent. The aim was for people to gain insight into their own creative selves; Carolyn Gregoire from our team wrote the questions in such a way as to be relatable and real-feeling.
Gregoire’s research identified eight creative personality types ranging from “The Artist” to “The Thinker”, and used a 15-question Myers-Briggs test to measure personality tendencies that would classify each user into one of these eight creative archetypes. Each result included an accompanying description to help guide them towards realizing their full creative potential; between each question was played an animated video created by set designers Isabel + Helen and director duo Baker & Evans that varied depending on what response was provided by users.
Anton Hjertstedt created unique 3D characters for each personality type that embody each trait while remaining relatable and shareable mascots that become part of people’s everyday lives. Following its release, this test went viral, with over 3.1 million taking it worldwide.
